Shopko – $3 Million Severance Settlement, UPDATE 02/12/2021

We filed an objection to Shopko’s Chapter 11 Bankruptcy Plan in May 2019, on behalf of certain Shopko employees who were owed severance pay as a result of the winddown of Shopko’s stores.

In August 2020, we reached a proposed class settlement with the Shopko Debtor in the amount of $3,018,434.78, representing 100% of the class members’ severance claims. On October 15, 2020, the United States Bankruptcy Court for the District of Nebraska granted approval of the settlement.

Pursuant to the terms of the settlement, severance checks (less attorneys’ fees, expenses, class representatives’ service payments, and applicable payroll withholdings), will be mailed to members of the class on or before February 12, 2021.  If you are a member of the class and have moved since your employment with Shopko, please contact us as soon as possible to update your mailing address.  Class members for whom we do not have a current mailing address by February 2, 2021 will lose their right to receive their share of the settlement.

On February 12th, 2021, according to the administrator for the trustee, checks, as described above, were mailed to members of the class from a location in Minnesota.
